What is Custom Tuning?

Custom Tuning or Remapping your vehicle's ECU is a process which involves our expert tuning partners - Berrima Diesel modifying the factory tune file to suit any performance accessories you may have ie. Exhaust / Intercooler,  as well as your intended driving style ie. Towing.

Why Tune my vehicle?

There are many reasons why someone would want to tune their vehicle, such as more Power & Torque for Towing, better Throttle Response or better Fuel Economy. Most vehicle will see increases in Power and Torque of 20 to 30% (Some More), and whilst tuning specifically for fuel economy is not really a thing, the increase in power and torque will generally equate to better fuel economy as well.

Why Remote Tuning?

Our remote tuning uses hardware built by the leading tuning hardware company in the world, in fact Alientech is also responsible for the hardware that most of the "Dyno Tuning" companies around the world use to tune vehicles. With the BD Pocket Tuner, you are in control. Once you've paired the Smartphone App to your Powergate device, the easy to follow instructions will allow the device to read your vehicle's factory tune and store it in the cloud. Once the experienced tuners at Berrima Diesel have modified the file to suit your requirements, you'll get a notification to say the new tune file is ready to be uploaded. Upload times vary from vehicle to vehicle, approx 5 to 20mins. Where Remote Tuning with the Powergate device differs from conventional tuning methods is that you will always have your STD file saved in the cloud and you can reload it at any time, particularly useful if you need to go back to the dealership for any reason. And also gives you the ability to reload your tune file at your convenience if the dealership wipes it, rather than having to revisit your Dyno Tuner.

Will it void my vehicle's warranty?

We can't speak for vehicle manufacturers, but if you ask your dealership pretty sure they will say 100% yes. The reality is, under Australian Consumer Law,  a Tune like any other accessory you fit to your vehicle can not simply "Void" your warranty.
